I have been shooting guns since I was a kid, and I've always been an enthusiast of the shooting sports. I recently had the chance to test out the Ruger American Standard, and I've been very impressed with it. The American Standard is a great all-around rifle for shooters of any level of experience. It's lightweight, reliable, and relatively inexpensive.

The American Standard is chambered in .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO, giving you a versatile range of ammunition to choose from. It comes with a 10 round magazine, and Ruger also sells optional 20 and 30 round magazines. The barrel length is 16.1 inches, making it a decent size for hunting, as well as target shooting at the range.

One of the first things I noticed about the American Standard is the sleek look of the rifle. The stock is made of a rugged, black polymer that is extremely durable. The stock features a soft-touch rubberized butt to make it comfortable to shoot, even after hours at the range. The comb of the buttstock also tilts slightly forward to provide a better cheek-weld for the shooter. The forward area of the grip is textured for a secure grip in any condition. It feels nice in the hand and is contoured to fit nicely into the palm of the shooter.

The American Standard is a semi-automatic gun that is operated by a gas impingement system. This is the same system that is used in the M16 and AR-15. This gas system helps to reduce the amount of barrel rise, which helps to keep the gun on target after shooting. The flat top receiver is equipped with a Picatinny rail, making it easy to mount optics. The gun also comes with open sights that are adjustable for windage and elevation.

I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the action was on the American Standard. The trigger pull is very smooth and has a clean break at 4.5 pounds. This is important for any kind of target shooting, especially when shooting offhand. The bolt is also easy to operate, and the handle has an extended cover to make it easier for the shooter to operate.

The accuracy of the American Standard is also impressive. I tested the rifle with different types of ammunition, and each shot was consistently on target. The gun was very accurate out to a distance of 100 yards, and it made very small groups when shooting from a bench rest.

The American Standard is the perfect all-around rifle for anyone looking for a reliable, accurate, and relatively inexpensive rifle. It would be great for target shooting, hunting, or even plinking. The build quality is excellent and it feels good in the hands of the shooter. The controls are easy to operate, and the trigger pull is smooth and clean. The accuracy of the rifle is impressive, and it is very capable of hitting targets out to at least 100 yards. All in all, the Ruger American Standard is an excellent rifle for shooters of all levels of experience.

Accuracy

The Ruger American Standard is rated as one of the most accurate mass market bolt-action rifles by consumers. This rifle offers a great balance between the classic target accuracy of a more expensive custom rifle and the affordability of a mass-produced rifle. The rifle uses a 1-piece stainless steel action, which offers a more rigid, smoother action than traditional two-piece actions. It also utilizes a patented “Power Bedding” technology to ensure the barrel and action are securely supported without any movement. As a result, the barrel has improved accuracy and stability. Furthermore, the three-lug bolt design creates less vibration, further increasing accuracy. This rifle is suitable for a range of shooting disciplines, from precision target shooting and hunting to long-distance shooting competitions. The Ruger American Standard delivers consistent precision accuracy time after time.
