CZ Whitworth has been around for many years creating quality rifles and ammunition designed for use in a variety of hunting scenarios and competitions. They offer a wide range of rifles from the classic to the modern, from bolt action to single shot, from .22 rimfire to .45-70. The main focus of the company is on quality and accuracy of the firearm, and for this reason it’s held in high regard by hunters and shooters around the world.

CZ Whitworth’s history can be traced back to the 1800s when Charles Whitworth set up a gunsmithing business at his home in England. Charles had previously worked in his father Richard’s gun shop, and was himself a keen shooter and hunter. After Charles’ death in 1876, the business was carried on by his son and subsequently his grandsons. By 1909, the business had become large enough to require a new factory in Birmingham, and this was where the company began to make its own firearms.

The company’s first rifle was the Mark I of 1911. This rifle was a single-shot bolt-action design, chambered for .303 British and in use by the British Army and Navy during the First World War. It was designed to be lighter and more accurate than the service rifle it replaced, and the Whitworths made several along the same lines, including the Marks II and III of 1916 and the Mark IV of 1919.

The company’s most iconic rifle, however, is the Whitworth Sniper Rifle of World War I. This was a modified version of the Mark I, chambered for .303 British, with a barrel length of 25 inches and a four-power telescope sight. It was used in anti-tank roles, as well as scouting, spotting and sharpshooting. Its accuracy was legendary and stories of shots made at distances of up to 1,500 yards are still told to this day.

More recent rifles from Whitworths include the Whitworth Lion range, which is based on a design used by the British Army during the Second World War. It is a more modern interpretation of the Mark I, with a detachable box magazine and a slightly longer barrel, and it is still manufacture today in various calibers including .303 British and .30-06 Springfield.

CZ Whitworth also produces a number of handguns. These include the Whitworth Panther, a semi-automatic pistol available in .45 ACP and .9mm Luger; the Whitworth Tiger, a double-action revolver available in .22 LR and .38 Special; and the Whitworth Grizzly, a classic single-action revolver available in .32 S&W Long and .357 Magnum.

The company has a long history of producing high-quality guns that have proven to be both accurate and reliable. They have a reputation for attention to detail, and all of their firearms are made using the best modern technology and materials available. In addition to rifles, they also produce ammunition which is specifically designed to match the guns they produce, ensuring that the accuracy is maintained.

Overall, CZ Whitworth is one of the most respected and well-known rifle and ammunition makers, and has earned its reputation through many years of producing quality firearms for both the military and civilian markets.
