There are few firearms as elegant, resilient, and versatile as the Christensen Arms Model 14 Ridgeline Rifle. For generations, shooters around the world have embraced this iconic bolt-action rifle as a trusted companion on their hunting trips, in competition, and in civic service. I’ve shot the Model 14 Ridgeline in a variety of conditions and environments for the past several years, and I can say without hesitation that it’s an incredibly reliable firearm that is also incredibly well-made.

At first glance, the Model 14 Ridgeline looks like any other bolt action rifle. The receiver is made of a treated 7075-T6 aerospace aluminum alloy and is paired with a carbon fiber barrel, making the rifle light but incredibly strong. It sports a smooth single-stage trigger with an adjustable pull weight (from 2.5 to 4 lbs) and a 60-degree bolt release that make it an incredibly user-friendly and accurate firearm. The 26” barrel is bead blasted and fluted for weight savings and a more aesthetically attractive appearance. The Model 14 Ridgeline is offered in a variety of standard calibers such as .223Rem., .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, etc., but also comes in special chamberings such as .17 Hornet, .204 Ruger, .308 Winchester Magnum, and more.

As far as accuracy, the Model 14 Ridgeline is a legend in its own right. Owning one, I can attest to the impressive accuracy of this rifle, which is accentuated by its carbon fiber barrel and precision trigger. This is evidenced by its half-MOA accuracy guarantee, which means that it can consistently land shots at most targets within half an inch at 100 yards. This incredible accuracy makes it an ideal rifle for hunting, target shooting, and competition purposes.

Perhaps the best thing about the Model 14 Ridgeline—besides its accuracy—is the fact that it’s incredibly reliable. No matter the conditions or environment that I’ve taken it into, it’s always performed flawlessly. Its 7075-T6 aluminum receiver is incredibly durable and is paired with a steel recoil lug for maximum strength and reliability. What’s more, the chromoly bolt is coated with nitride for increased lubricity and corrosion resistance. This ensures that the rifle is able to cope with a variety of adverse conditions.

The Model 14 Ridgeline also features an adjustable paddle-style magazine release and a one-piece integrated steel magazine for increased reliability. It also has a cerakoted finish with a matte black color that helps to protect the rifle from rust and other corrosion. The stock is also incredibly well made, featuring ergonomic textured panels on the forend and pistol grip for increased comfort and improved grip. The rifle also boasts an adjustable cheekpiece, which coupled with the adjustable trigger pull weight makes it incredibly easy to customize to one’s own needs and preferences.

In my opinion, the Christensen Arms Model 14 Ridgeline is an outstanding choice for any shooter who needs a reliable, accurate, and reliable rifle. It has amazing accuracy, dependability, and build-quality that is second to none. Plus, it’s incredibly affordable, making it an excellent choice for the budget-minded shooter. Whether you’re a hunter, a competitive shooter, or just looking for a reliable firearm for home-defense, the Model 14 Ridgeline is an excellent choice.

Accuracy

The Christensen Arms Model 14 Ridgeline is known for its exceptional accuracy. This gun is designed with a 40-degree muzzle crown, tapered barrel, and free-floating forend that promote a firearm that fixed barrel accuracy with the added benefit of easy maneuverability. The Ridgeline achieves this level of accuracy thanks in part to its stiffer barrel, match grade carbon fiber chamber, and the aforementioned muzzle/crown design. Also, the low-mass bolt design and adjustable gas-port system help to ensure that you are able to shoot all day without feeling fatigued. The gun is capable of sub-MOA (minute-of-angle) accuracy out of the box with select-grade components and ammunition, but many shooters report obtaining even better accuracy after fine-tuning the rifle.
