Wilson Combat is an Arkansas-based custom firearms manufacturer that has been operating since 1977. Their products are highly regarded in the law enforcement, military and the shooting community. The Wilson Combat WC-15 Protector Elite is the latest addition to their line of the finest handguns and rifles designed for personal defense and home protection.
This model focuses on the classic AR-15 design and looks from the iconic M4 profile and picatinny railed forend, to the strong pistol grip and flash suppressor, the WC-15 Defender Elite is an awesome looking weapon. The model’s upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and are finished with a black hard anodized finish. The entire upper receiver is full integrated and secured with an integral trigger guard and the lower features an enlarged trigger guard.
The Wilson Combat WC-15 Protector Elite is an extremely reliable, well-made gun. The short-stroke gas piston system is essentially overbuilt with a heavy-duty carrier and enhanced buffer system that further increase the recoil dampening and accuracy of this rifle. The barrel is made from stainless steel and has a 1:8 twist rate along with a threaded muzzle brake and a mid-length gas system designed for sustained full-auto fire.
The Wilson Combat WC-15 Protector Elite also comes with a flat top upper receiver fitted with a flip up rear sight, and a full-length Picatinny top rail for optics, sights, or other aftermarket accessories. The Patrol Elite also comes with a full-size pistol grip and adjustable six-position stock with rubber cheek pad for comfort.
Shooting the Wilson Combat WC-15 Protector Elite results in a smooth, comfortable shooting experience. The gun is well balanced and the recoil is manageable. I fired 100 rounds of high quality 62 grain hollow point rounds through the gun without any malfunctions. The accuracy is very good, with all of the rounds disappearing neatly into a circle the size of a baseball at 50 yards when rested and operated in semi-auto mode.
The Wilson Combat WC-15 Protector Elite is a top-of-the-line defensive rifle with all of the right features and quality components. The gun is constructed of rugged, reliable materials, and the adjustable stock and grip makes it comfortable to fire. The accuracy of the WC-15 Protector Elite is excellent, and the recoil is easily managed with its short-stroke piston system. As a whole, the Wilson Combat WC-15 Protector Elite is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a dependable defensive rifle.
