From the first time I laid eyes on the Springfield Armory HELLION Bullpup, I knew I had to have one. I had seen them in videos and was immediately drawn to the unique look and feel of the gun. Now I had the opportunity to pick one up. After taking a hard look at the gun, shooting it multiple times, and doing various drills with it, I can confidently say it’s one of the best bullpup designs I have had the pleasure of using.
The first thing I noticed about the HELLION Bullpup was its sleek, modern design. It’s a bullpup design, meaning the action is mounted behind the trigger, resulting in a shorter overall length for the firearm. This makes the HELLION Bullpup a great option for those looking for a compact, yet powerful, firearm. It has an M-LOK forend that can easily accommodate pressure switches on lights and lasers, and a top picatinny rail that allows you to mount optics like red dot sights and scopes.
The next thing I noticed was how sturdy and solidly built the HELLION Bullpup felt in my hands. It’s a gas-operated semi-automatic design that uses a short-stroke piston. This makes it reliable and dependable in terms of function. The charging handle is located on the left side of the gun and is large enough to be easily operated with gloves on, making it a great choice for law enforcement.
The HELLION Bullpup also has a variety of ambidextrous controls that make it ideal for both right-handed and left-handed shooters. It features a bolt release that can be easily operated with either hand and a large magazine release that can be easily depressed with the trigger finger. It also has an ambidextrous safety selector so the user can operate the gun in either safe or fire modes with either hand.
Finally, the hellion Bullpup has a generous trigger guard that allows for easy access and protection. The trigger has a smooth, consistent pull that is easy to control and very accurate. I also found it to be very responsive to rapid-fire sequences, as the trigger reset is very short. Overall, I was very satisfied with the trigger and rate of fire it afforded me.
The HELLION Bullpup also has some great ergonomic features that make shooting it comfortable and enjoyable. It features a comfortable, oversized pistol grip that fits most hands and provides good support. It also has an adjustable cheek rest so you can adjust it for comfortable shooting positions. Lastly, it has several sling attachment points so you can quickly transition from slung to shooting positions.
All in all, I was very impressed with the Springfield Armory HELLION Bullpup. I found it to be well-built, reliable, and feature-rich. It’s a great gun for anyone who is looking for a reliable, compact, and feature-rich bullpup. Its ergonomic features make it comfortable to shoot, and its ambidextrous controls make it well-suited for both right-handed and left-handed shooters. Its trigger was also great, providing short reset times and excellent accuracy.
If you’re in the market for a bullpup and all the features and benefits that come with it, I highly recommend the HELLION Bullpup. I’ve put a few thousand rounds through it without any issues and I’m confident it will be a great option for both home defense and competitive shooting.
