First released in 1895, the Marlin 1895G has been steadily improved from its predecessor. During its long history of production, the 1895G has been offered in a plethora of variants and calibers. At the moment, Marlin still manufactures the 1895G in 22 Long Rifle, 45-70 Government, 444 Marlin, 450 Marlin, and the brand new 450 Bushmaster. The most recent entry into the 1895G family is the Marlin Model 1895GBL.

Marlin’s craftsmanship of the Model 1895G is apparent when you hold one in your hands. The stock is made out of an American black walnut and is oil-finished. The forearm is tapered and has a series of grooves on the underside. The pistol grip is slender and semi-rolled. When functioning properly, the blued steel frame, receiver, and barrel all work together to deliver excellent accuracy.

When it comes to the action, the Marlin Model 1895G is a classic lever-action rifle. The action cycles cleanly and quickly, allowing for rapid and accurate fire. The provided 18.5-inch barrel has a deep blued finish and is equipped with deeply rifled grooves. Thanks to the 6-Shot tubular magazine, the 1895G can carry 6 rounds of ammunition. With a fully-loaded magazine, the 1895G has a total weight of 8 pounds, making it an excellent choice for quick-action hunting in the field.

One of the most impressive features of the Marlin Model 1895G, other than its reliability and accuracy, is its ease of assembly and takedown. Because the Marlin 1895G does not require any tools, and each part is machined securely in place, it can be disassembled and reassembled easily and quickly. All that is required is a flathead screwdriver and the beveled screw machined into the receiver for assembly and takedown.

The Marlin Model 1895G is a great all-around hunting rifle. It is accurate enough for long-range shooting, but it is also quick enough to make snap shots in close quarters. With the proper sights, the 1895G can reliably hit targets out to 200 yards. The short barrel also makes it easy to handle in thick brush and dense woods.

In conclusion, the Marlin Model 1895G is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an experienced and reliable lever-action rifle. Its design is time-tested and its accuracy and reliability have been attested by generations of shooters. The 1895G is perfect for the seasoned hunter or the novice shooter, offering both precision and speed.
