The KIMBER AEGIS ELITE PRO is a semi-automatic pistol manufactured in the United States by KIMBER. It is a high-end pistol designed and built to offer accuracy and reliability. The KIMBER AEGIS ELITE PRO is designed as a full size, high capacity, durable and reliable hand gun. The general design is that of a modern handgun with an all steel frame and slide machined from Stainless Steel and a rubberized grip. The pistol features a M1913 Picatinny rail for mounting of optical sights and other accessories, a beveled magazine well for quick and easy reloads, and a match grade barrel with KIMBER proprietary polygonal rifling for consistent accuracy.
I had the chance to shoot the KIMBER AEGIS ELITE PRO at a local shooting range and was very impressed with its accuracy and reliability. I was shooting with a 9mm and .40 S&W caliber and found the pistol very accurate at all distances with both calibers. It is very easy to shoot, with minimal felt recoil and a natural point of aim. The pistol felt very natural in my hand and I especially liked the rubberized grip which created extra stability during rapid fire. The trigger had a small amount of take-up, and then a clean break with a minimal amount of over travel. The sights are good, but I could see some people wanting to upgrade to a better set.
The build quality of the KIMBER AEGIS ELITE PRO is very good and as expected of a high-end pistol. The slide is machined from stainless steel and has serrations on all four sides for maximum gripping. The slide also features a frontal optical sight cutout for mounting of a micro red dot sight. The frame is also machined from stainless steel and features the same rubberized grips I mentioned earlier which provide a very secure grip. The barrel is a match grade and feature KIMBERS proprietary polygonal rifling which increases accuracy. The trigger has an adjustable stop for over travel and is very consistent with a clean break.
I was very impressed with the overall function of the KIMBER AEGIS ELITE PRO. The slide released very smoothly from lock-up and the pistol ran with no malfunctions at all during my test. I ran both ball and self-defense ammo and both worked great. I also appreciated the magazine release which was easy to use and able to lock the slide back after the last round was fired. The magazine is built into the frame and can be exchanged quickly and without any tools. The magazines are also built to last with stainless steel followers and a base-plate designed to be used with high-pressure defense ammunition.
In conclusion, the KIMBER AEGIS ELITE PRO is an excellent semi-automatic pistol designed for precision and reliability. It has a modern design and is built with high-quality materials. The trigger is very consistent and the grip provides a secure hold. The magazine is also very reliable and built to handle high-pressure rounds without any malfunctions. I highly recommend this pistol for anyone looking for a reliable handgun that won’t fail in a critical situation.
