When it comes to small game hunting, the Henry Small Game Rifle is one of the most popular guns on the market. It’s lightweight, reliable, affordable, and can be used on just about any game species with great success. I’ve been using a Henry Small Game Rifle for a few years now, and I can honestly say that it’s one of the best small game hunting rifles I’ve ever owned.

The Henry Small Game Rifle is a lever action rifle that uses either .22 Long Rifle, .22 Magnum, or 17 HMR rounds. It has a black matte finish and an American walnut stock. The barrel is 18.5" long and it has a 1-inch groove diameter with open sights. The rifle is also relatively lightweight, weighing in at only 5.3 lbs. It’s not only light, but it also balances well when shouldered.

One of the best features of the Henry Small Game Rifle is its accuracy. At 25 yards, I can easily group my shots into 1-2 inch groups. The barrel, trigger, and overall design of the rifle all contribute to its accuracy. The trigger is crisp and breaks clean without any creep, and it’s adjustable to the desired trigger pull. The sights are also easy to adjust and are plenty accurate for most small game hunting applications.

Another great feature of the Henry Small Game Rifle is its versatility. With the choice of three different calibers, you can customize the rifle for whatever game species you’re after. The .22 Long Rifle is great for pest control and small varmint hunting, while the .22 Magnum and 17 HMR are ideal for bigger game like rabbits, squirrels, and hares. The rifle is also very reliable, as the lever action is smooth and easy to operate.

When it comes to durability, the Henry Small Game Rifle doesn’t disappoint. The black matte finish is highly durable and can withstand plenty of wear and tear. The walnut stock is also highly durable, and it won’t crack or break even after years of use. The rifle is also well-protected from the elements, as it has a water-resistant coating to keep the internals dry in wet conditions.

In terms of drawbacks, there aren’t too many with the Henry Small Game Rifle. The only real issue I have is that the sights cannot be removed or replaced, so if you want to use a scope or other type of sight, you’re out of luck. Another issue is the limited range of the rifle; at only 25 yards it’s not suited for longer-range shooting.

Overall, the Henry Small Game Rifle is an excellent choice for small game hunting. It’s affordable, reliable, accurate, and versatile. The trigger, sights, and overall design are all top-notch. The only real issue I have is the lack of scope compatibility, but that can easily be remedied with a rifle scope adapter. If you’re in the market for a small game hunting rifle, the Henry Small Game Rifle is a great choice.

The Henry Small Game Rifle is an incredibly accurate rifle for small game hunting. It’s a simple, straight-pull bolt action rifle with an all-steel receiver and walnut stock, allowing it to be well-balanced and absorb recoil well. It also features a well-crafted trigger, which contributes to the gun’s accuracy—even in slightly less than ideal positions.
