The EAA MC312 SPORT is an attractive, well-made and well-priced 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun. The shotgun itself is made in Italy and comes with a choice of either a walnut wood or synthetic stock. It features a 5 round magazine capacity (4 in the U.K.), an 18” barrel, screw-in chokes, and a cross-bolt safety. It also comes with extended choke tubes, which can be used to extend the range of the shotgun’s pattern. All in all, the EAA MC312 SPORT is a reliable and dependable shotgun that will serve you well.

For starters, the EAA MC312 SPORT is well made with its matte black finish on the metal parts and a high gloss finish on the wood stock. It does not feel or appear cheap, which is certainly a plus. The stock and the pistol grip are comfortable and the checkering is extremely well done. I have seen some complaints about the front grip being too small, but in my opinion, the size is just right for the size and weight of the shotgun.

The shotgun has adjustable open sights, which enable the shooter to acquire targets more quickly and accurately. The sights are easy to use and of decent quality, however, I would recommend ditching them in favour of a good optical sight such as a red dot or holographic sight. The sights are also very low profile, which is great for tactical use, but not so great for hunting use.

The cross-bolt safety is located in a very convenient location just above the top of the pistol grip and it is easy to find and operate. The safety mechanism is very secure and I have personally never had an issue with it. The safety also has a very tactile feel that is easy to understand without having to look at it.

The EAA MC312 SPORT comes with threaded chokes as standard, which allows you to customize your shot pattern. I found this feature very useful and had no issues with adjusting the chokes to my desired settings. Despite coming with three choke tubes (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder and Full), I would only recommend using the cylinder choke when shooting clays. This is because the larger choke tubes have the tendency to spread the pattern too much and the pellets may not reach the clay target, resulting in a missed shot.

The semi-auto action of the EAA MC312 SPORT is smooth and reliable, although a little slow compared to other semi-auto shotguns. I attribute the slow action to the relatively light weight of the gun (7.75lbs), which makes it more susceptible to felt recoil and hence slows down the action over time. The light weight also makes it a great option for smaller-framed shooters and those who may have difficulty handling heavier shotguns.

The recoil is relatively mild, however, I would recommend adding a good recoil pad and adjusting the length of pull if you intend to fire a large number of rounds in quick succession, as the felt recoil can become quite noticeable after several shots.

The overall quality of the EAA MC312 SPORT is good, although you can tell it is not a high-end shotgun with its stamped metal parts and plastic internals. However, the most important thing is that the gun shoots as advertised and is reliable.

Overall, the EAA MC312 SPORT is a great value semi-automatic shotgun that I would recommend to both novice and experienced shooters. Whether it be for recreational targets shooting, competitive shooting, or just for a day at the range with your friends, the EAA MC312 SPORT will serve you well. It is a well-made, reliable shotgun at an affordable price and I think that is something worth considering.

Who Should Buy

EAA MC312 SPORT is an out-of-the-box semi-automatic shotgun that is ideal for sporting, hunting, and defensive uses. It is best suited for people who are looking for a reliable and affordable shotgun without too many bells and whistles. It provides the user with consistent accuracy and reliability at an economical price. It is also perfect for those who just want a shotgun for the occasional clays-shooting session.

On the other hand, those who are looking for a high-end, customizable shotgun should look elsewhere.
