As a gun enthusiast and outdoor enthusiast, the search for the best in firearms and weapons sometimes feels endless. Therefore, the opportunity to evaluate a new firearm is compelling. After reviewing many firearms and weapons over the years, it was a pleasure to test out the CMMG MK57 Banshee Elite.
The MK57 Banshee Elite is designed to be a complete system solution for those looking for a lightweight and reliable personal defense weapon and for use in home defense. The Banshee Elite’s design combines features such as a long charging handle, monolithic top rail, slick side billet receiver and modified upper and lower receivers to ensure a reliable functioning weapon system. It comes with a patented short-stroke push-rod system from CMMG that proves extremely reliable and reliable after long-term and heavy use.
The first and most important factor to consider when it comes to any firearm is accuracy. While accuracy is a somewhat subjective factor, the Banshee Elite is indeed an incredibly accurate and reliable rifle, largely due to the tight tolerances and smooth bolt rails that CMMG have implemented into the design. The trigger is exceptionally smooth, with no discernible grittiness or grit, and seems to pull straight back and with the same pressure all the way through. This, in combination with a good set of sights, makes accurate shots a breeze.

The Red Dot and Magnifier combo is definitely one of the most popular choices. This combo features a locking Waverly Arms gas block and an adjustable gas block combined with M-Lok compatible mounting slots that let you quickly customize your optics setup. The red dot itself is adjustable for brightness, which is an important consideration for low-light scenarios.
The Banshee Elite also comes with a variety of other features. The upper and lower receivers are both constructed from aircraft grade billet aluminum for precision and maximum strength. The bolt carrier group is machined from a high-strength steel alloy while the barrels are constructed of an advanced stainless steel alloy.

That said, should you wish to customize your Banshee Elite, CMMG offers several different barrel length variants from 11” to 24”, so you can truly customize the weapon to your exact requirements.
The Banshee Elite also comes with the CMMG RKM series of handguards. This is an AR-15 inspired design that works perfectly with modern optics setups and provides an excellent grip surface for easy manipulation. M-Lok slots are available for the addition of aftermarket padded items such as vertical grips or lights. The handguards are also designed to minimize any barrel flex that is sometimes experienced on other AR-15 style rifles, so this is certainly a huge plus.
In conclusion, I have found the CMMG MK57 Banshee Elite to be an excellent firearm. It is lightweight, reliable, accurate and aesthetically pleasing as well. The build quality, bolt carrier group and trigger are all great features which contribute to the reliable and accurate performance of this gun. The handguard design also creates a great grip surface while the M-Lok compatibility allows for flexible customization. From beginners to experienced shooters, the Banshee Elite is sure to please. I highly recommend this firearm as an all-around personal defense system.
