Chiappa Rhino 50DS is a powerful double-action revolver designed and manufactured by Chiappa Firearms of Italy. I recently had the opportunity to test and evaluate the Chiappa Rhino 50DS, and I can say that this gun lives up to its hype.

When I first heard of the Chiappa Rhino 50DS, I admit that I was a bit skeptical. It seemed like an odd gun, with an unusual design and an odd-shaped cylinder. I was expecting a cumbersome, quirky gun, but was pleasantly surprised when the gun arrived and I got to try it out.

The steel frame adds significant weight and along with the medium-profile barrel makes the Rhino 50DS much heavier than other revolvers on the market. That might not be an issue if you plan to carry the revolver, but it is worth considering if you plan on using it for recreational target shooting.

The Chiappa Rhino 50DS uses an eight-round cylinder and fires .357 magnum ammunition. I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth and accurate the gun was and the cylinder design and patented angled barrel make for a very pop-up-Glock style sighting system that made shooting from the hip very easy. It felt very comfortable to hold and the lightweight construction made for a comfortable shoot even for the novice shooter.

The trigger action on the Rhino 50DS is very smooth, with a short, smooth pull that produces a light and consistant double-action trigger pull. This combination makes shooting the gun very controllable and is perfect for target shooting and personal defense scenarios. The trigger also has a unique built-in safety feature called the RhinoSystem. This system allows the shooter to deactivate the trigger by applying pressure to the hammer, allowing the user to safely unload the revolver.

The Chiappa Rhino 50DS also features some very well made and attractive finishing touches. The gun is available in a variety of colors, including black, stainless and nickel, and has a rubber grip for added comfort. Additionally, the cylinder is machined to match the frame and has a rather attractive look. The gun also features adjustable sights and comes with some nice tactical accessories, such as an adjustable fiberoptic front sight and a Picatinny rail system for mounting your favorite optics or lights.

When it comes down to it, I was an instant fan of the Chiappa Rhino 50DS. It is an extremely well-made and refined revolver that offers exceptional accuracy and handling. The design is aesthetically pleasing and the updated features, such as the adjustable rear sight and Picatinny rail system, make this a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and attractive handgun. It is a good choice for target shooting and personal defense scenarios, and consumers can be sure to get a quality gun in the Chiappa Rhino 50DS.
