The Browning Buck Mark Plus Camper is one of the most popular handguns on the market today. It has earned its reputation as one of the most reliable and accurate self-defense weapons ever designed. The Buck Mark series is well known for its excellent ergonomics, features, and accuracy. It also offers a variety of customization options, so it can suit the needs of any shooter. I recently had the opportunity to test out the Browning Buck Mark Plus Camper and I wanted to share my experience with you.
This handgun features a two-tone finish with a flat, black slide and a matte finish grip. The grip features a thumb print activation switch which is ideal for concealed carry. The Buck Mark Plus Camper has a five and a half inch stainless steel barrel. The slide also has a forward thumb safety which is standard on all Browning 1911-style pistols. This pistol has high-profile, three-dot sights which are adjustable for windage and elevation.
When I first handled the gun I was immediately impressed with the build quality of the piece. The steel frame felt solid and secure in my hand. The finish of the pistol was even and smooth on both the outside and inside of the receiver. The trigger pull was a crisp, single-action break with a clean and consistent reset.
The accuracy of this pistol was also quite impressive. At 25 yards, I was able to keep all shots on a 5-inch target. At closer distances, I was able to place a magazine of eight rounds within the center of a 4-inch circle. I certainly did not anticipate such excellent accuracy when firing the Buck Mark Plus Camper.
The ergonomics of this gun are difficult to compare to any other pistol. The grip is just wide enough to provide a secure hold while still allowing plenty of movement for the fingers to find their necessary positions. The checkering on the frontstrap and backstrap provides a good amount of purchase and it works well to provide a secure grip on the pistol. The beavertail of the pistol is plenty long enough to protect from slide bite and the thumb safety can be easily engaged and disengaged with a simple press of the thumb.
The Buck Mark Plus Camper offers a variety of features that makes it a great choice for personal protection. The frame is designed with an under-cutting trigger guard which aids in providing a higher grip. It also features a Picatinny accessory rail on the frame, which makes it compatible with most popular Weapon Lights and lasers. The takedown lever is easy to operate with a simple push, allowing for one handed disassembly.
The Browning Buck Mark Plus Camper is an exceptional handgun for personal defense. It provides plenty of accuracy, reliability, and functionality. The ergonomics are comfortable and secure while the features are tailored towards the needs of experienced shooters. Add to this the fact that the Browning Buck Mark Plus Camper is one of the most popular pistols on the market today, and you have a potential match made in heaven for your personal defense needs.
Pros:
Cons:
The Browning Buck Mark Plus Camper is a great firearm for anyone looking for a high-quality semiautomatic pistol with improved accuracy and reliability. It includes ergonomic features and an overall purposeful design that make it an excellent choice for hunting, recreational shooting, home protection, and more. The Camper is a great choice for shooters of any skill level and provides an enjoyable shooting experience.
However, the Browning Buck Mark Plus Camper may not be the best choice for those looking for an inexpensive option or who are very new to shooting and firearms. It is more expensive than similar models, and those unfamiliar with firearms may find its features and quirks too complex. It is also not a great choice for defensive use, as its lighter sub-5lb frame and lack of night sights may make it ill-suited for defensive scenarios.
